The Tony Elumelu Foundation's BeGreen Africa Entrepreneurship Programme is a pioneering initiative to foster sustainable development across Africa through green entrepreneurship. Launched in partnership with global and regional stakeholders, the program was inspired by the growing need to address climate change while promoting economic growth. Rooted in the foundation’s mission of empowering African entrepreneurs, the BeGreen program provides funding, mentorship, and training to startups and businesses prioritizing renewable energy, environmental conservation, and sustainable practices. By equipping entrepreneurs with the tools to innovate in the green economy, the program seeks to drive systemic change, combat environmental challenges, and create job opportunities, contributing to a more sustainable and prosperous Africa.
As the climate crisis intensifies, initiatives like BeGreen Africa underscore the urgent need for innovation in green entrepreneurship. Whether it’s developing renewable energy systems, reimagining waste management, or pioneering eco-friendly products, this programme equips changemakers to make a tangible environmental impact.
